Mehrangarh Fort : Jodhpur

Mount Abu

Guru Shikhar, Mount Abu’s highest mountain peak, is located at an altitude of about 1,722 meters above sea level in Mount Abu. An ancient temple dedicated to Guru Dattatreya, the incarnation of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer Fort, the golden fortress constructed by the renowned Rajput ruler Jaisal in 1156, is located at the majestic Trikuta hills. It is also known as Sonar Kila.

Dargah Sharif : Ajmer

One of the most famous pilgrim center in Ajmeer, the Dargah Sharif, is the burial ground of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-Ud-Din Chist. This shrine is visited by millions of people every year and regarded as a holy place by devotees of all religion.

City Palace : Udaipur

City Palace, the largest Palace complex in the state of Rajasthan assumed to be built in 16th century, is a majestic white marble palace royally placed perfectly in a peak reflecting its beauty in the Pichola Lake.

City Palace : Jaipur

The palace is surrounded by a sky-scraping wall on all sides, which makes it puzzle to find out the main entrance of the palace.

Makar Sakranti : The Kite Festival

There are many religious reasons behind celebration of Makar Sakranti., Jan 14th. Sun is worshiped on this day. It is also said that the day on, effect of cold reduces measurably.

But I look at it from a different perspective. It is popular for flying kites. Enthusiasm gives energy to stand on roof for the whole day in sunlight looking at the sky and managing the position of your kite amongst others. This is the day when I see my complete neighborhood on their roofs and find it best to renew public relations :).

It was after seven years when I celebrated the festival in Jaipur. The occasion is still celebrated with the same zeal on the day with the difference that fest does not last for many days now. Probably because of change in interests and priorities, but that is quite obvious too.

If you want to enjoy the real kite fest, make a trip to Jaipur/Gujrat on Jan 14. You will remember it for ever.

The Bus Accident

It was a foggy morning today.
I feel that I have a strong intuitive power but still I hardly go along with it. Again ignoring the same, I took the bus.

I started at 6 A.M. from Jaipur for Gurgaon. But the smog was so dense that bus hardly covered one third distance in half of the time taken normally. Suddenly, bus collided somewhere with loud noise. It was all messy around. I fell down from my seat with minor injuries but there were many who were badly hurt.

We all came out and boarded another one. Thanks to state roadways cooperative staff. Finally, I reached the destination safely, but in double the time than usual.
It was the first time ever I experienced such accident. Reading, listening and watching news is different, but once you are there, only then you can feel the actual.

In college, there was a professor who used to teach life lessons along with mechanical internal combustion engines. That was the first time I heard from someone that its the toughest time to save yourself and your values. When you have belongings all around you with no one to claim, it become difficult to have control on self. I fell down, my hand purse was not with me. When I got down, somebody bought it and asked if it was mine. I was really grateful.

I thank God that humanity is still there and will be there no matter how much we progress in other areas.

Run For India

Today, I participated in a Marathon organized by Running and Living. It was an effort to unite and show rage against 26 Nov terror attacks in Mumbai.

The event was at Leisure Valley Garden, Gurgaon. The spirit was so high that I managed to reach the venue at 7:15 A.M., 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time and that too on a Sunday. I opted for 5 km track. I was really surprised to see the enthusiasm in people. There were people of all age groups, ranging from 70 years to kids of 6 years. Kudos to all of them!

Long back, I used to be a good runner in my school time. And I used to run a lot especially relay races. But this was the first time I participated in marathon. I did not find it that exhausting, probably because temperature was low and I normally take a brisk walk of about an hour on a daily basis.

I do not know how much I contributed to the noble cause for which it was held, but yes, I gained a lot of confidence. I feel proud that I was a part of it.

This morning event made my day.

The Kick off

It’s been long I seriously thought of writing blog. I've been writing from long but writing on a public forum is different. Thanks to all those who inspired me for this.
